  • 1/2 pound lump crab meat
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 diced jalapeno pepper
  • 1 diced tomato
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bag of tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, red onion, cilantro, jalapeno pepper, tomato, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Spread a layer of tortilla chips on the bottom of a baking dish.
  4. Spoon half of the crab meat mixture over the tortilla chips.
  5. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese over the crab meat.
  6. Add another layer of tortilla chips on top of the cheese.
  7. Spoon the rest of the crab meat mixture over the tortilla chips.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the crab meat.
  9. Bake the crab nachos in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.

If you prefer your food to be less spicy, you can remove the seeds from the jalapeno pepper before dicing it. Additionally, you can add a dollop of sour cream or guacamole on top of the dish to balance out the flavors.
