- 16 ounces elbow macaroni
- 1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound lump crab meat
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions, drain and set aside.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter over medium heat in a large saucepan.
- Add the flour and whisk constantly for 2-3 minutes until the mixture turns golden brown and starts to smell nutty.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, then add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Continue whisking until the sauce thickens, about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and shredded Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked elbow macaroni, peeled and deveined shrimp, and lump crab meat to the cheese sauce, and stir until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a large baking dish and sprinkle the top with panko breadcrumbs.
- Bake the seafood mac and cheese for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cheese sauce is bubbly.
